In conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the Malaysian American Commission on Education Exchange (MACEE),  MACEE@60th State-Led Engagement series was announced. Sarawak MACEE Alumnus participated in this engagement series through an engagement talk organized led by ILEP returnees, Mr. Kenneth Chong Wei Thart (ILEP 2014) and Miss Magdaline Muuk (ILEP 2015). Together they worked together with other MACEE grantees. The event, “From Sarawak to USA” was held on 27th September 2023 (Wednesday) from 0900-1600 hour at MBKS Auditorium, Kuching. The invited speakers were comprised of former MACEE/Fulbright returnees, FLTA, ILEP, SEALYP, YSEALI, YES & IVLP (USG) The organizer also invited USG returnees as the aim of the engagement event was to promote MACEE’s programs and grants as well as reach out and bridging the gap to the community. Our target audience was teachers and Form 4-5 students within Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, and Padawan District. The event was officiated by MACEE’s Executive Director, Mr. Curtis Johnson, jointly by Ms. Shearon Nisha Kimbi, Administrative Officer, representing Tuan Haji Azmi bin Haji Bujang, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) and Dr Jarrod Sio Jyh Lih, Assistant Director of English Language Learning Sector, Sarawak State Education Department, representing Yang Berbahagia Datu Dr.Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, The Director of Sarawak Education Department. Overall, the engagement talk was a successful event attended by 238 students: 77 teachers from 22 schools.
