Grants for Malaysians

The objective of the grant is not only to enable the recipient to pursue a particular field of study but to develop leaders who can contribute to promoting better understanding between the U.S. and Malaysia.

In pursuit of the objectives of the above program, MACEE provides a number of grants under various program categories to Malaysians to conduct research, teach, or study in the U.S.

Grants for Malaysian citizens are available under the following program categories:

  • Fulbright Malaysian Scholar Program
    Malaysian citizens with a Ph.D degree currently residing in Malaysia and are engaged in an academic capacity in institutions of higher learning are eligible to apply for this award. The grant allows successful applicants to conduct research and occasional lecturing at appropriate American universities for up to eight months. Please click Please click here for more information.

  • Fulbright Malaysian Professional Exchange Program.
    Grants are meant for professionals to broaden their experience through consultation, internship and other professional enrichment programs at relevant organizations in the United States for a period of three to six months.  Managers of public or private sector organizations, associations or service industries are eligible for these awards.  Please click here for details.

  • International Fulbright Science & Technology Award.
    This grant provides highly-talented students with an opportunity to pursue Ph.D. study at top U.S. universities.  The award is very competitive and designed to be the most prestigious international scholarship in science and technology. Please click here for details.

  • Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program.
    Grants are intended for recent graduates in English/TESOL and young English teachers who wish to improve their English language skills, gain familiarity with American culture, and enhance their teaching skills.  Grantees spend one year at a U.S. university taking courses and serving as teaching assistants in Malay language courses.   • Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program.
    This is a one-year program for mid-career professionals in leadership positions (public or private sector) who will be future leaders and policy makers.  It combines non-degree graduate level academic work with practical professional development activities (consultations, visits, work affiliations, conferences, etc).  Fellows are affiliated with a U.S. university where they are part of a cohort of other fellows from various countries.  Please click here for details.
