“FRIENDS OF MACEE”

UNITED STATES COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY AFFILIATE PROGRAM

This program is designed to benefit both the institution and the student.  Students coming to the MACEE advising center consistently request information beyond the standard catalog and viewbook.  They seek a clearer picture of what US Colleges and universities are all about before making important decisions in regards to application and matriculation.  US university admission representatives, on the other hand, value the benefits of having “friends” in Malaysia who maintain up-to-date files on their institution and who can be of assistance when traveling to the country.

Benefits of the affiliate program are outlined below:

Friends of MACEE are given a designated area within the MEAC Advising Library to highlight your programs and services.

Each affiliate member is given an attractive blue open file box to house your materials, such as application forms, catalogs and view books.

Each member is also provided a three-ring binder to provide information pertaining to your institution which are not commonly available to international students - such as pictures of special events, international night, welcome orientation, alumni contacts, program brochures, etc.

MACEE participates in various well-attended education fairs that are held each year in Malaysia, eg. FACON KL Education Fair, STAR Education Fair.  We also travel within Peninsula Malaysia and East Malaysia to secondary schools' education fairs and hold outreach programs where we distribute general information about American higher education as well as information on MACEE Affiliate institutions.

Traveling to Malaysia??  Members of our affiliate program are allowed to use MACEE's well-appointed facilities to provide group information sessions or one-to-one interviews twice a year.  In addition, MACEE can provide limited assistance in planning your itinerary.  Non-Affiliate members are charged USD50 to recruit at MACEE and USD150 for assistance with itinerary planning.

Members are also provided with a free MACEE annual report (This report is sold at USD25 per copy to non-affiliate members) which outlines all the necessary information required by a US College and University when planning their recruitment strategy (eg. Activities that MACEE participates in, number of students at each local colleges, most popular major).

Relevant newspaper articles pertaining to Ministry of Education announcements as well as current information on new colleges or programs are also provided to affiliate members.

Our membership subscription is only USD500 for the affiliate program at our MACEE Kuala Lumpur office. 

MACEE, as well as many other US overseas advising centers, are increasingly facing financial uncertainty.  We however remain committed to providing the most comprehensive and current information available on US higher education, but we cannot do so solely on the financial support of the US government.

We therefore thank you for becoming a "Friend  of  MACEE" and allowing us to continue our efforts in promoting American higher education.

MACEE is a bi-national Fulbright Commission established in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1963.

MACEE’s Educational Advising Center (MEAC) is a Department of State Affiliated Center and a member of NAFSA, The Association of International Educators.  MACEE provides educational advising to the public and distributes information on all regionally accredited institutions in the United States.
